HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND HUMAN SECURITY IN SOUTHEAST ASIA: A CASE STUDY OF BANGLADESHI FOREIGN WORKERS IN MALAYSIA

Background and Purpose: In the modern globalisation epoch, security threats no longer concern state’s hostilities, military operation, or nuclear proliferation. It involves non-traditional menaces like human trafficking, which is believed to escalate quickly. The goal of this research identify trafficking activities reveal experiences victims in Southeast Asia region, particularly Malaysia.
 
 Methodology: This study used a qualitative method through case approach. involved an in-depth interview session with five primary informants (represented as Cases 1 5) who were from Bangladesh, government officer related agency, two local academicians representative Bangladesh foreign workers’ vending system company.
 Findings: discovered that crimes produce detrimental effects on survival victims, especially economic individual aspect. Their wages are not fully paid their freedom socialize restricted.
 Contribution: calls for policy formulation implementation protect interest people despite citizenship considered most trustworthy, relevant universal approach rectifying these illegal within region Keywords: labour migration, security, trafficking.
